50 Year Summary
Here I sit in the departure lounge at Pearson and I thought it was time to write my bio. To start I truly regret not being with you guys on the 15th, but my wife is dragging me off to Italy. Actually we planned this last fall and just couldn’t change our plans.
I had wanted to write something witty and intelligent but alas those faculties are no longer part of me. (Was that Edith saying they never were part of my psyche)
After graduation I attended STU and then UNB for law. I was admitted to the Barristers Society in 1973 and I’m still practicing and can’t seem to get it quite right yet! I then went to Dalhousie on the north shore so I could learn French. Alas that plan didn’t reach realization as a little Irish girl, Nonie, from Fredericton followed me north until I was snared. Forty-one years and four children later I’m still practicing that too.
My sons are located in TO (two of them) one in Wolfville and one in Fredericton. Two are professors, one is a producer of Children’s programming, and my youngest is in sound engineering, just having returned from an assignment in Rio for the Olympics. They in turn have replicated four grandchildren for us, two girls and two boys. I think I scare the girls because I just don’t know what to around them.( Did I hear Gwen make some remark?)
Nonie and I now operate a B&B in Saint John where we moved to 6 years ago. If you want pictures you can go to BB Canada or google Weir Inn. we only have two rooms and do all the work ourselves including gourmet breakfasts. Drop by if ever your in the area I always have a bottle of wine that needs to be opened.
In conclusion I hope you will decide to have a 60th reunion and give me the date right away before I get commandeered on another voyage. Best wishes to all of you and I will be thinking of you on the 15th.
