1977 ~ first son, Nicholas, born in Saskatoon
1979 ~ returned to the family farm & established North Tay Farms Ltd. with my father & brother
1979 ~ second son, Anthony, born in Fredericton
1984-2012 ~ served 28 years on the Board of Directors of Stanley Mutual Insurance Company, two years as board chairman. During this period I also served ten years on the Board of Directors of United General Insurance Company, Fredericton.
1991 ~ built a new home where the two of us now rattle around
2016 ~ presently reside in North Tay, still haven’t retired, up at 5:00am to look after approximately 270 head of Holstein cattle of which about 120 are milking at any time. I spend the majority of my time on feeding the herd, maintenance of machinery and crop production rather than milking or cattle care.
Sadly, my dad, Todd, passed away in 1995. But my mother, Ruth, lives in Fredericton and is turning 93 years young in January. Of my five sisters and three brothers, five have/had careers in agriculture.
Life is good!
